Founded shortly before the first lockdown in 2020, Ratpack is a youth group made up of young people
aged 8–16 from Waltham Forest in London.

The club is run by and for young people, and during the pandemic Ratpack designed and distributed 60 art packs to local children who may not have had access to art supplies outside of school.

Ratpack went on to run more collaborative projects, including online creative workshops, and re-designing Gnome House community garden.

Waltham Forest’s Ratpack have been nominated for a National Award by the Creative Lives Award and we need your vote!

The Creative Lives Awards (formerly the Epic Awards) started in 2010, as a way to celebrate and spotlight the incredible achievements of groups and projects providing creative activity for people of all ages and abilities across the UK and Ireland. This year’s shortlist celebrates resilience during the Covid-19 pandemic, when many groups were forced to think outside the box to keep going.
